Staff Bonus Rules

Bonus rules let you automatically append custom text to quotes based on conditions you define — useful for prompting upsells, flagging large events, or adding notes for specific event types. This feature is managed by account administrators in the Settings area.

Getting There

Navigate to Settings → Bonus Rules to open the Bonus Rules editor.

Adding a Bonus Rule

1. Click Add bonus rule (or Add your first bonus rule if no rules exist yet).
2. Choose a Condition from the dropdown. Options include:

• Always — text appears on every quote
• No dessert selected — triggers when no dessert is in the quote
• No add-on package — triggers when no add-on package is included
• Large group (minimum guests) — triggers when guest count meets or exceeds a number you set; enter the minimum in the Min guests field that appears
• Specific event type — triggers for a chosen event type (e.g. Wedding, Corporate); select the event type using the picker that appears
• Custom (advanced) — reserved for future use

1. Enter the text you want appended to the quote when the condition is met.
2. Click Add to save the rule.

Managing Existing Rules

Each rule in the list shows its text, its condition, and an Active / Inactive status badge.

• Toggle active/inactive — click the Active or Inactive badge to enable or disable a rule without deleting it.
• Edit — click the pencil icon to modify the rule's text or condition, then click Save.
• Delete — click the bin icon; you'll be asked to confirm before the rule is permanently removed.

How Bonus Rules Affect Quotes

When a quote is generated, CaterCloud checks each active rule in order. Any rule whose condition is met has its text appended to the bottom of the quote automatically. Inactive rules are skipped entirely.

> Tip: Use the Inactive toggle to pause a seasonal rule (e.g. a summer drinks upsell) rather than deleting it — it'll be ready to re-enable later.
