Date-Based Pricing Rules
Date-based pricing rules let you automatically apply surcharges or discounts to quotes based on the day of the week or a specific date range. This is ideal for event caterers and food truck operators who charge more on weekends, public holidays, or peak seasons.
Getting There
Navigate to Settings → Pricing to find the Pricing rules panel.
Adding a New Rule
- Click Add rule in the top-right corner of the Pricing rules panel.
- Fill in the Rule name field — use something descriptive like "Weekend surcharge" or "Summer peak rate."
- Enter a value in the Adjustment (%) field:
- Positive numbers add a surcharge (e.g.
15= +15%) - Negative numbers apply a discount (e.g.
-10= 10% off)
- Choose a rule type using the toggle:
- Days of week — applies the adjustment on specific weekdays
- Date range — applies the adjustment between a start and end date
- Configure the rule type:
- For Days of week: tap the day circles (S, M, T, W, T, F, S) to toggle which days are included. At least one day must be selected.
- For Date range: set a Start date, an End date, or both. You can leave one blank to create an open-ended range.
- Click Save to confirm, or press Enter from the adjustment field.
Editing and Managing Rules
- Click the pencil icon on any rule to edit its settings.
- Use the enable/disable toggle on each rule to turn it on or off without deleting it.
- Click the X icon to delete a rule — you'll be asked to confirm before it's removed.
Validation to Know About
- Adjustment values must be between -90% and +500%.
- For date ranges, the end date must be on or after the start date.
- A weekday rule requires at least one day selected.
> Tip: Rules are applied when generating quotes — check your quote totals after enabling a new rule to confirm the adjustment is working as expected.
