Editing Event Details in CaterCloud

The event detail page is your central hub for managing everything about a booking — from the venue and guest count to timing and contact info. This article is for anyone who needs to view or update core event information after an event has been created.

How the Event Detail Page Is Laid Out

When you open an event, the top of the page shows the event hero — a dark navy banner that displays the key facts at a glance:

  • Event name (large heading at the top)
  • Pipeline stage pill (e.g. Enquiry, Confirmed, Lost)
  • Date, start time, and end time
  • Location name
  • Estimated guest count
  • A T-minus chip showing how many days until the event

If your account has financial access, a money strip on the right shows Quote, Paid, Due, and Margin figures.

Editing Core Event Information

Most fields in the hero banner are inline-editable — no separate edit screen needed. Click directly on the value you want to change, update it, and CaterCloud saves automatically.

Fields you can edit inline:

  • Event name — click the heading text to rename the event
  • Start time / End time — click either time value to change when the event runs
  • Location — click the location name (or Add location if none is set) to enter a venue
  • Guest count — click the guest number (or Add guests if empty) to set estimated attendees

Navigating to an Event

  1. Go to Events → Events (list view) or open the calendar.
  2. Click any event to open its detail page.
  3. The breadcrumb at the top shows Events → [Event Name] so you always know where you are.

What You Cannot Edit Inline

The event date is shown in the hero but is not inline-editable from the detail page — use the calendar's drag-to-reschedule feature to move an event to a different date.
