Event Types & Categories

Event types let you label and organise enquiries by occasion — such as weddings, corporate lunches, or birthday parties. Setting them up is a one-time task for account owners or admins, and pays off by keeping your bookings tidy and helping the quote builder surface the right packages automatically.

Getting There

Navigate to Settings → Event Types to open the event types editor.

Adding a New Event Type

  1. Click Add event type (or Add your first event type if your list is empty).
  2. Enter a name in the Event type name field — for example, *Wedding Reception* or *Corporate Lunch* (100-character limit).
  3. Optionally add a Description to give your team context (up to 500 characters).
  4. Click Add or press Enter to save. The new type appears in your list immediately.

Editing an Existing Type

  • Click the pencil icon next to any event type to open it for editing.
  • Update the name or description as needed.
  • Click Save to apply changes, or Cancel to discard them.

Activating and Deactivating Types

Each event type shows an Active or Inactive badge. Click the badge to toggle its status.

  • Active types appear as options when creating or editing events and enquiries.
  • Inactive types are hidden from those dropdowns but remain in your settings list — useful for seasonal event types you want to pause rather than delete.

Deleting a Type

  • Click the trash icon next to a type, then confirm in the dialog.
  • Existing events that already use the deleted type keep their reference — only new enquiries are affected.
  • Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Why This Matters

Assigning an event type to a booking allows the quote builder to automatically surface packages relevant to that occasion, saving time when putting together proposals.

Tip: Keep your list focused — five to ten well-named types are easier for staff to use than a long, overlapping list.
