Building a form

Building a Form in CaterCloud
The form builder lets you create branded enquiry and booking forms that embed on your website or share as a direct link. It's designed for caterers who want to collect event details, dietary requirements, and contact information without chasing clients by email.
---
Adding Fields
- Open Forms from the main navigation and select the form you want to edit (or create a new one).
- In the builder, use the field panel to add the inputs you need. Available field types include:
- Text – for names, venues, and addresses
- Date – for event dates (triggers availability checking automatically)
- Dropdown / Select – for options like dietary requirements or guest count ranges
- Required toggle – mark any field as mandatory so the form won't submit without it
- Give each field a clear Label and, where helpful, a Placeholder to guide respondents.
- Drag fields up or down to reorder them.
---
Adding Conditional Logic
Conditional logic lets you show or hide fields based on a respondent's earlier answer.
- Select a field, then configure the condition (e.g. only show a "Dietary notes" text box when the dietary requirements field is not set to "No requirements").
- Conditions are evaluated in real time as the respondent moves through the form.
---
Setting a Redirect After Submission
By default, respondents see a thank-you message when they submit. You can send them to a specific URL instead:
- Open Settings within the form builder.
- Under Thank you, enter a full URL in the Redirect field (e.g.
https://yourwebsite.com/thanks). - Leave the field blank to show the default thank-you message.
---
Publishing Your Form
Once your fields and settings are saved, copy the form's shareable link or embed code to add it to your website. When embedded, the form automatically resizes inside its iframe.
> Tip: Name date fields using labels like "Event Date" so CaterCloud can automatically link availability checking to that field.
