Importing Contacts and Events into CaterCloud
CaterCloud's import tool lets you bring contacts and events into your account from a CSV or spreadsheet file — ideal if you're migrating from another tool or building out your client list in bulk. This feature is available to account owners and admins only.
Where to Find It
- To import contacts, go to Contacts and look for the import option.
- To import events, go to Events → List and look for the import option.
- To review past imports, go to Settings → Import history.
How to Import a File
- Navigate to either Events → List or Contacts, depending on what you're importing.
- Upload your CSV or XLSX file using the import option on that page.
- CaterCloud will automatically attempt to match your column headers to the right fields — review the mapping before confirming.
- Correct any columns that weren't matched automatically by selecting the appropriate field from the dropdown.
- Confirm the import to process your file.
Understanding Your Results
Once an import completes, it appears in Settings → Import history. Each entry shows:
- + new — records that were created fresh
- updated — existing records that were modified
- skipped — rows that couldn't be processed (e.g. missing required data)
The history page keeps your last 50 imports, ordered most recent first.
Undoing an Import
If something looks wrong after an import, you can reverse it quickly:
- Go to Settings → Import history.
- Find the import you want to reverse and click Undo.
- Confirm the action in the dialog that appears.
Undoing an import archives the records that were newly created — it does not delete them permanently, and they can be restored from the archive. Note that updated records cannot be reverted automatically.
> Tip: Before importing a large file, test with a small batch of 5–10 rows first to confirm your column mapping is correct.
