Managing Your Notification Preferences
CaterCloud lets you control exactly which email and SMS alerts you receive — and when — so you stay informed without getting overwhelmed. This setting applies to your own account and, if you have admin access, to customer-facing notifications for your whole business.
Getting There
Navigate to Settings → Notifications to open the Notification Preferences page.
Turning Notifications On or Off
Notifications are grouped into four categories:
- Customer-facing — emails and SMS your customers receive (e.g. booking confirmations, payment receipts). These apply to your entire account and can only be changed by admins.
- Internal updates (just you) — alerts you personally receive, such as new enquiries or payment notifications. Toggle off anything you find noisy.
- Staff — notifications sent to staff members about their shifts and assignments.
- System & security — account and security messages. These cannot be disabled.
For each notification, you can:
- Use the main toggle to enable or disable the notification entirely.
- Use the per-channel toggles (where available) to choose whether it arrives by email, SMS, or both.
- Use the Enable all or Disable all bulk toggles at the top of each category to switch an entire group at once.
When you're done making changes, click Save in the bar that appears at the bottom of the page.
Setting Quiet Hours
If you don't want to be interrupted overnight or on weekends, enable Quiet hours:
- Tick the Enable quiet hours checkbox.
- Set a From time and a To time.
- Save your changes.
Notifications generated during quiet hours are held and delivered once the quiet period ends — nothing is lost.
Admin-Only Controls
Notifications in the Customer-facing and some Staff categories are tenant-wide settings. You'll only see editable toggles for these if your account has admin permissions. Others will appear locked.

Tip: If a customer isn't receiving confirmation emails, check the Customer-facing category first — an admin may have disabled that notification type.
