Operations: Managing Your Vendor & Market Profiles

The Operations section is where you set up and manage the physical units your business trades from — food trucks, trailers, market stalls, kitchens, or fixed premises. If you run more than one unit, each gets its own profile so bookings, events, and applications stay neatly separated.

---

What Is an Operation?

An operation represents a single trading unit or concept — for example, *Taco Truck #1*, *CBD Market Stall*, or *Corporate Kitchen*. Each operation has its own profile that other parts of CaterCloud (events, quotes, applications) can be linked to.

---

Navigating to Operations

Go to Operations in the main navigation. The page lists all operations your account has access to. What you can do on this page depends on your role — some users can only view, while others can create, edit, or delete operations.

---

Creating an Operation

  1. From the Operations page, click New Operation (visible if you have the required permission).
  2. Fill in the profile details for your unit — name, type, and any other relevant fields shown on the form.
  3. Save the profile. It will now appear in your operations list and be available to link elsewhere in CaterCloud.

---

Editing an Existing Operation

  1. Locate the operation in the list and open it.
  2. Click Edit (if your role allows it) to update the profile details.
  3. Save your changes.

---

Linking Events to an Operation

Once an operation profile exists, you can associate market events and applications with it using the Applications tab inside the operation. This tab shows all event applications linked to that unit, grouped by status:

  • Drafting — applications still being prepared
  • Submitted — sent applications awaiting an outcome
  • Outcome — confirmed, rejected, or failed applications

For submitted applications, you can mark them as Confirm or Reject directly from this tab. To find new events to apply for, follow the Go to Event Discovery → link shown when no applications exist yet.

---

> Tip: Use Event Discovery to find and apply for markets and events, then track every application's progress from within the operation's Applications tab.
