Ordering & Storefront Settings

The Online ordering settings page lets you control how your storefront behaves for customers placing orders — covering lead times, minimum order values, tax display, and confirmation messaging. These are global defaults that apply across all your menus unless you override them on a per-menu basis.

To get there, go to Settings → Online ordering.

---

Online Ordering Defaults

These fields set the baseline rules for every menu you publish.

  • Minimum lead time — Enter a number of hours customers must order in advance. For example, 24 means orders must be placed at least 24 hours before the event.
  • Booking window — Enter the maximum number of days ahead a customer can place an order.
  • Default minimum order — Set a minimum order value in dollars. Customers won't be able to check out below this amount.

You can override any of these defaults on individual menus. Go to Menus to manage per-menu settings.

---

Tax Display

Choose how prices appear to customers on your storefront:

  • Show GST-inclusive prices — The displayed price already includes tax. Recommended if you're GST-registered.
  • Show prices ex-GST, add GST at checkout — Tax is calculated and itemised separately at the checkout step.
  • No tax display — No tax line is shown to customers at any point.

If your account is marked as GST-registered, CaterCloud will default to the inclusive option.

---

Order Notifications

New storefront order notifications are sent to the workspace owner automatically. To add more recipients, go to Settings → Notifications.

---

Order Confirmation Message

This message is shown to customers immediately after they place an order. Click the text area and type your message — for example, reassuring customers you'll follow up to confirm details.

---

Saving Your Changes

When you're done, click Save changes. The button will confirm once your settings have been saved.

---

> Tip: Changes to these defaults won't affect menus where you've already set individual overrides — check each menu in Menus if you need consistent behaviour across all storefronts.
