Recurring & Multi-Day Events

CaterCloud lets you create events that repeat on a schedule or span multiple days — ideal for weekly corporate lunch runs, multi-day festivals, or any booking that follows a predictable pattern.

Setting Up a Recurring Event

When creating or editing an event, look for the Recurrence section. Choose a frequency from the available options:

  • Single — one-off event, no repetition
  • Daily — repeats every day for a set number of cycles (up to 730)
  • Weekly — repeats every week (or every N weeks); optionally select specific days of the week (e.g. Mon/Wed/Fri)
  • Monthly (by date) — repeats on the same date each month (e.g. the 15th)
  • Monthly (by weekday) — repeats on the same weekday position each month (e.g. first Wednesday); single-day events only
  • Custom — repeats every N days of your choosing

Set the Cycles field to control how many times the event repeats. A summary label (e.g. *"every week on Mon/Wed, 12 cycles"*) confirms your settings before you save.

Setting Up a Multi-Day Event

To create an event that spans multiple days, add more than one day to the event's schedule template before saving. Each day entry has its own Start Time and End Time.

Multi-day templates work with all frequency types except Monthly by weekday — use Monthly (by date) if your recurring event spans multiple days.

How Instances Are Created

Once you save, CaterCloud generates one event record per cycle. Each instance preserves the same day structure and times as your template, shifted forward in time according to the rule. You can view all instances on the Calendar.

> Note: Daily recurrence supports up to 730 cycles; all other frequencies support up to 156 cycles.

Editing & Rescheduling

Individual instances can be dragged to a new date directly on the Calendar without affecting the rest of the series.

Tip: After saving a series, use the Calendar view to spot any instances that clash with existing bookings before confirming with your client.
