Stripe payments

Accepting Online Payments with Stripe
CaterCloud's Stripe integration lets you collect invoice payments online — your clients click a payment link, pay by card, and the money lands in your bank account. It's ideal for any caterer who wants to stop chasing payments manually.
Connecting Stripe
- Go to Settings → Payments.
- Find the Stripe section and click Connect with Stripe.
- A popup window opens and takes you through Stripe's onboarding flow. Complete all the steps Stripe requires (business details, bank account, identity verification).
- Close the popup when finished — CaterCloud detects the closed window, confirms your account status, and refreshes the page automatically.
Once connected, you'll see Stripe marked as ready. If you also have Square connected, a Default for new payment links toggle appears so you can choose which processor is used when generating invoice payment links.
What Your Client Sees
When you send an invoice with a payment link attached, your client sees a hosted payment page. They enter their card details and pay — no CaterCloud account required on their end.
Card Surcharge (Optional)
If you want to pass card processing costs on to clients, you can enable a surcharge:
- In Settings → Payments, find the Card surcharge section.
- Check Add a surcharge to card payments.
- Enter a Surcharge rate between 0% and 10% (Stripe's typical rate is around 1.75%).
- If you're GST-registered, you can check Surcharge includes GST to handle the tax component correctly.
- A live preview shows exactly what a client would pay on a $500.00 invoice.
- Click Save surcharge settings.
Note: Surcharges apply to card payment links only — manual payments and bank transfers are never affected. Only charge what your bank actually charges you for card processing.
Payouts
Stripe handles payouts directly to your nominated bank account on their standard schedule. Payout timing is set inside your Stripe dashboard, not inside CaterCloud.

Tip: If you use both Stripe and Square, check your Default for new payment links setting so the right processor is always selected automatically.
