Suppression list (do-not-contact)
Updated 21 July 2026
Managing Your Do Not Contact List
The do not contact list stops CaterCloud from sending emails or texts to addresses that shouldn't receive them. It's useful for catering businesses that need to respect unsubscribe requests, handle bounced emails, or block contacts for legal reasons.
Navigate to Sequences → Do not contact list to manage all suppressed addresses.
How Entries Are Added Automatically
CaterCloud adds addresses to the list without any action from you when:
- An email fails to deliver (bounced)
- A contact unsubscribes from an email
- A message is reported as spam
- Someone texts STOP to opt out of SMS
Each entry displays a reason badge so you can see why a contact was suppressed.
Manually Adding an Address
- Go to Sequences → Do not contact list
- In the input row at the top, select a channel — Email or SMS
- Type the email address or phone number into the text field
- Click Add to list (or press Enter)
The entry appears in the table immediately with the reason Manually blocked.
Importing a List via CSV
If you're migrating from another platform or have a bulk list to upload:
- Click Import CSV
- Select the Channel (Email or SMS)
- Paste your data into the text area — one address per line
- Optionally add a second column with a reason:
opted_out,bounced,complaint,manual, orinvalid - Click Import
CaterCloud reports how many entries were added, updated, or skipped, and flags any line-level errors.
Filtering and Searching
Use the All / Email / SMS toggle to filter by channel. Use the Search field to find a specific address quickly.
Removing an Entry
- Find the address in the table
- Click the delete icon on that row
- Confirm the removal in the dialog that appears
Removing an entry means that contact can receive messages again — only do this if you're sure they've given fresh consent.

Tip: Suppressed contacts are skipped automatically in all active sequences — check Sequences to review any campaigns that may have been affected.
