Setting Up Upsells & Add-Ons

Upsells let you offer optional extras to customers at key moments during the booking journey — from the initial quote through to final event details. This feature is ideal for caterers who want to surface premium options (upgraded menus, staffing add-ons, décor packages) without a manual back-and-forth.

Run the Setup Wizard First

If you haven't configured upsells before, CaterCloud will prompt you to complete the setup wizard before diving into manual configuration.

Navigate to Settings → Upsells and look for the Complete the setup wizard callout. Click Start wizard to begin a guided 3-step walkthrough (roughly 3 minutes) that includes a live customer preview. Once finished, you'll be returned to the Upsells settings page with your add-ons ready to go.

Adding an Add-On Manually

  1. Go to Settings → Upsells.
  2. Click + Add (or the equivalent add button) to open the add-on form.
  3. Fill in the required fields:
  • Name — what the customer sees (required)
  • Description — optional detail about the add-on
  • Category — groups the add-on (e.g. food add-on)
  • Price mode — choose Flat (fixed dollar amount) or Per guest (multiplied by guest count)
  • Price — enter the dollar amount, or disable Charge for this to offer it free
  1. Choose where the add-on appears using the stage toggles:
  • During booking — shown in the booking funnel before payment
  • After payment — displayed immediately after a successful deposit
  • Final details — offered when the customer submits final event details
  • Customer portal — available any time via the customer portal
  1. Set optional controls: Requires approval, Max quantity.
  2. Click Save.

Managing Existing Add-Ons

  • Use the active/inactive toggle on each add-on to enable or disable it without deleting it.
  • Drag the handle icon to reorder how add-ons appear to customers.
  • Click the edit icon to update any field, or the delete icon to permanently remove an add-on.

Stage Master Switches

Each stage (During booking, After payment, etc.) has a global on/off switch. Turning a stage off hides all its add-ons from customers, even if individual items are active.

> Tip: Use the Customer portal stage to let clients browse and request add-ons at any time — great for long-lead corporate events.
