Wages & staff pay

Staff Wages & Pay Review

The Staff wages page gives owners and managers a real-time view of what your team has earned across any period — calculated directly from scheduled shifts and each staff member's hourly rate. It's designed for payroll review before you run pays, not as a substitute for a payroll system.

Getting There

Navigate to Money → Staff wages. The page is permission-gated — only users with the appropriate role can view cross-staff pay data. If you're redirected away, ask your account owner to check your permissions.

Understanding the Period

By default the page shows the current calendar month. Use the period navigation controls at the top right to move to a previous month or set a custom date range. The URL updates with from and to dates so you can bookmark or share a specific period.

What the Numbers Mean

Three summary cards appear at the top of the page:

  • Total hours — sum of all payable hours across every shift in the period
  • Total wages — combined pay cost across all staff (highlighted in red as an outgoing cost)
  • Avg hours / staff — average hours per person, plus a breakdown of shift statuses (e.g. how many shifts are confirmed, completed, or no-show)

Per-Staff Breakdown

The Per-staff totals table lists every assigned staff member with:

  • Shifts — number of payable shifts in the period
  • Hours — total worked hours (after breaks)
  • Pay — calculated from each person's hourly rate, including any overtime or penalty rate loadings your account has enabled

Cancelled and no-show shifts carry no pay and are excluded from totals.

Exporting for Payroll

Click Export (top right) to download the period's wage data as a file you can hand off to your bookkeeper or import into your payroll tool.

Keeping Rates Up to Date

Pay figures are only as accurate as the hourly rates set on each staff member's profile. If a total looks wrong, check the rate on the individual staff record first.

Tip: Wage costs feed directly into your event-level margins — review them alongside your P&L in the Financial Dashboard to see how labour affects overall profitability.
