Pick them
When Tripleseat is the better choice
If one of these is you, they will serve you better than we will, and you should go and talk to them.
You run a venue — a restaurant, hotel or function space — and the thing being booked is a ROOM as much as the food.
You need floor plans and table layouts for the space itself.
You are a hotel and need the event system to talk to a property management system.
Where we differ
What CaterCloud does that is genuinely different
The crew are free
A callout goes out as a text and your staff tap yes or no — no account, no app, no seat. Casual crew will never install software, and pricing that charges per user turns your roster into a bill.
It knows what the food costs
Quotes price against your ingredients and your overheads, and each event reports what it actually made. Most event software tracks what you charged; the harder question is what you kept.
It is built for a phone
The day, the money, the menus and the team are all designed for the device you actually have on you at a job, rather than a desktop screen shrunk down.
You can try it without talking to anyone
Free to start, and the widgets run in your browser before you sign up for anything.
Questions
What people ask when they are switching
- What does Tripleseat cost?
- Tripleseat does not publish prices. Their packages page says pricing depends on volume, locations, add-ons and use case, and asks you to request a demo. We are not going to estimate a number on their behalf — ask them directly.
- Is CaterCloud a direct replacement for Tripleseat?
- Not for a venue. Tripleseat is built around booking a space — floor plans, room blocks, property-management integration — and CaterCloud has none of those. If you are a caterer who travels to the event rather than hosting it, the overlap is much closer, and the parts CaterCloud adds are food costing, crew callouts and per-event profit.
- Can I move my existing events across?
- You can import bookings from a spreadsheet, and connect a calendar so existing dates come in. There is no direct Tripleseat migration tool, and we would rather say that than imply a one-click switch.
- Why should I trust a comparison written by a competitor?
- Partly you should not — we make one of these. What you can check is every figure: each one links to Tripleseat’s own page and carries the date we read it. Where they publish nothing, this page says "not published" rather than filling the gap.
Found something here that is out of date or unfair? Tell us and we will correct it. That includes Tripleseat — the invitation is open to them too.
